Welcome to Chenoweth Kennels in Port Byron, Illinois

Please travel down our page and enjoy our AKC Vizslas

Some have hunt titles, some have lengthy pedigrees. All are very special to Us.
After over 30 years of raising Black and Tan Coonhounds, Jack Russell Terriers and English Pointers,
We have found a breed of Bird Dog that is a superior hunting partner in the field, and an awesome Best-Friend
in the home.

Send us a note if you’d like to “talk Vizsla”!
This page will be updated with new titles periodically, so surf back often or stop by to visit at the Kennels.
We’ll keep the birds ready for you.

Our Vizslas

Shiloh’s Happy Go Lucky JH
FC AFC Pointe Blanc’s Rusty Miracle
x  NFC FC Berry’s Taking Chances

“Smiley” fits her name like a glove. Lots of sweet personality with a die hard love of hunting.
Accomplished her Junior Hunt Title in 2009, be looking
 for more in the future.

Shiloh’s Oracle JH

NAFC FC AFC Jumping Jack Flash II  x  Linden’s Bad Moon Rising JH

Ora easily obtained her Junior Hunt Title in 2009.
Her beautiful dark color, high tail, and 50 lb. size makes her a great addition to the kennel. Oracle is the mother of the #4 Top Ten Derby Dog in the US 2008. Very showy in her aggressive hunting style, we look forward to many hunts and adventures with her. Her fantastic pedigree speaks for itself.

Thanks to Robert Tomczak, of Shiloh Kennels,
for the opportunity to purchase Smiley, Oracle, and Rommel.  They have been a great contribution to our kennel.

Shiloh’s Rommel’s Blitzkrieg JH

FC AFC Raany SH  x  Madison III  SH

Rommel’s pedigree contains some of the top names in Vizslas today. FC AFC Buster Keaton MH, HOF DC Rebel Rouser ET, and FC AFC Raany SH. He is a full brother to NAFC 2xNGDC DC AFC Crimson’s Twenty Gauge Ruger SH CGC. One of the top Vizslas in the US today. Rommel has a Great Personality and a super buddy in the hunting field. An all round superb house pet. Rommel achieved his Junior Hunt Title in 2009,  and won the first Chukkar contest he was entered in. Come see Rommel as he works towards more titles.

Rolling Hills Jack, JH
Rolling Hills Bandit x Corkys Dream Chevy
05/16/1997 to 09/02/2010

Jack is our Leading “old man” in the field. He’s a big favorite of Ron’s as he hunts like a Master in the field.
For all the puppy training he has done, he deserves first place on this page.

We will always remember Jack for his skill and passion for hunting birds that for so many years he kindly shared with us

CK Penny, MH

Kick Em Up OutCast of Shiloh x FC AFC Copper Creek Borden, MH

Penny has been working her heart out in the field. At 20 months and 3 days of age she has passed her Master Hunt Test. This makes her one of the youngest Vizslas on record, if not the youngest, to accomplish this honor. She is a hard hunting and retrieving Vizsla. CK Penny is a granddaughter of FC AFC Raany, SH and FC AFC Lifo Riley. She has 8 ancestors with FC and/or AFC titles in the first 3 generations.

CK Ruger’s Red Label Ann

National Vizsla Association
Fort Robinson, Nebraska 10/2010
Ron Chenoweth and Annie

Ann qualified for National level Derby Competition, so we headed to the far Northwest corner of Nebraska to the largest number of competitors we had ever see. Ann competed against the top 30 Derby Vizslas in the country. We rode gallery for the first 3 days and saw some incredible talent and hunting excellenance in many awesome Vizslas and their owners. On the day of the Derby we rode in front of the gallery, with Annie showing all her hunting grace and skill. She located 2 birds, held point on both, and ranged wide and far. It was a real test of talent as the week had been uncommonly hot and dry. Bird scent was not at its best, but Annie completed the 30-minute run, with plenty of energy to keep on going for another. We couldn’t be prouder of Annie’s performance and her natural love of hunting. She didn’t place in the ribbons, but we couldn’t have had a better hunt. It was a great experience, beautiful scenery and top facility for the hunt, not to forget to mention the friends and fellow bird hunters that we enjoyed for our week in the hills of Nebraska.
